GAGASI 99.5 TAKES THE BRAND TO ADVERTISERS
KZN’s biggest music radio station Gagasi 99.5 hosted the Trade Road Show Breakfast Presentation at Hilton Hotel in Sandton North of Johannesburg yesterday. The purpose of the road show was to present to advertisers and media buyers the Gagasi 99.5 brand profile in terms of on-air content and audiences.
Advertising industry executives attended the presentation and got a chance to come into direct contact and engage with the Gagasi 99.5 brand. The guests attending, some of whom were getting a physical feel of the station for the first time, had an opportunity to meet and interact with the station’s management as well as the breakfast show and the afternoon drive show teams.
Gagasi 99.5 Managing Director Chris Meyiwa told advertisers present that Gagasi 99.5 remains the only KZN based radio station that is uniquely KZN. He said the time has come for the Johannesburg based agencies to truly understand the KZN market. “As Gagasi 99.5 we pride ourselves for being the radio station that celebrates the lifestyle of the people of KZN. We talk to the urban black KZN audience and we do that in our own unique way, representing our ownership of that market segment,” says Meyiwa.
He also told the advertisers that the recently launched billboard campaign that is pushing the “Gagasi Style” theme has been positively received by listeners. “The campaign has been progressing very well so far, its integration across on-air, online and outdoor platforms has been working very well including the interaction we are driving with listeners through changes we are putting on the billboard imaging,” Meyiwa adds.
The station also circulated the state-of-the-art trade presenter bible that tells a brief story about the station which includes the selected audio of on-air content and the type of music that the station plays. The bible further demonstrated the station’s growth and its value offering to clients.
Presenting the trade Presenter bible during the presentation Gagasi 99.5 Sales Manager Dawn Cameron said this will help advertising agencies in making informed media buying decisions. “We understand that sometimes media buyers make decisions based on perception and with this bible we are saying, here is something that will help you understand who we are and what we are doing and ultimately help you understand who reaches the consumer that you are looking for,” says Cameron.
