16days of activisim against WOMEN & CHILD abuse runs from 25th November 2011 - 10th December 2011. An annual government & public activation programme.
Activism against WOMEN & CHILD abuse should be a daily activation and not just saved for a few days in a year. Big ups to organisations such as POWA (People opposing Women Abuse) and foundations such as the Madiba-Zuma foundation, The First lady is surely a leading lady: working tirelessly to uplift local or rather rural women, making sure that they too are recognised and given equal opportunities as those obtainable in big cities.
I mention Madam Madiba-Zuma, because she is a humanitarian with a humble kindred-spirit working tirelessly for the benefit of women, a true leader and a neighbour of mine. The Madiba-ZumaFoundation is based at the BLUE HOUSE, where yours truelly also operates, I look forward to chatting to her soon on some of the dynamic and exciting international projects the foundation is involved with, in uplifting our everyday people to be women of worth. Having worked in taking oMa-Antiza overseas and allowing their natural talents to be their bread & Butter whilst introducing them to international markets has, to me, been the biggest way I could show "The work of your hands, will make a way for you...let them build and not destroy."
During the 25th November - 10th December, please Zarling wear a white ribbon, as a sign of peace, support & as an action of "ENOUGH is ENOUGH" with violence in the home, work or at play.
I will gladly come to your organisation, church, group, stokvel or group session by your invite of course. I enjoy facilitating womens conversations, helping you share your story, as the greatest playright of my time, Welcome Msomi says "we all have a story to share". It is a form of therapy and I promise to share mine with you.
Last week I spent the week sharing in Chesterville. I had big feet to fill, after Sis Gcina Mhlophe had spent a day with the same group. We were remembering yesterday, today and sharing about Sheroes and Heroes of the past and lessons we can learn fromt them. Living legends are always good to look upto, spend time with and hear wisdom from. Sis Gcina, who I actually call Mom Gcina will always remain one of my favourite Sheroes, I have never not ONCE heard or seen her perform or share on the personal struggles she faced, yet I have heard of them by other veterans. I aint no story teller, I cant even sing to save my life, but non-the-less I had a time of laughter, smiles and good conversation eChesterville. Big ups for making a Zarling feel at home, Ntuzuma: watch out, I might just get a jondi in Chesterville :-)
I have been invited to the Malibongwe womens group, a group of proffesional women in Durban who meet monthly at various venues through sports, games such as Golf and various National events: just to share their challenges and celebrate their joys. They are selling tickets via computicket for R250.00 per person. Their forthcoming event is going to be at Quarters hotel, Avondale Road, Morningside, eThekwini. Why not join them? Lets share our stories, walk away from our pasts, and lift our pretty heads up. Group hugs have always been therepeautic.
The beauty about this particular club is their proffesional approach. The database they create and branded cards and Malibongwe leather purses that each member recieves. They are interested in YOU as a woman, as a girl, as a MAN wanting to take care of your daughter better or even understand her and YOU as a man, wanting to be a better husband.
I look forward to seeing you on teh 25th November Zarling, if not, I will always be willing to accept your invitation on zookey@gagasi995.co.za.
Blessings and love
Zookey
