When I found out that Prince William had finally proposed to his long-term girlfriend, my heart sank. Somewhere in my little fairytale mind, I had seen myself and him being an item and this whole announcement crushed my fairytale worldL But I’m not a sore loser, I’m happy for Kate, especially since her handsome Prince put a huge effort into his proposal. According to The Telegraph, he gave her his late mother’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which he had been kept since her death in 1997. “I had been carrying it (the ring) around with me in my rucksack for about three weeks before that,” he said. “I literally wouldn’t let it go. Everywhere we went I kept hold of it because I knew if it disappeared I would be in a lot of trouble.”
