Four years ago, a dream was born that was to change this most magnificent African panorama forever - a dream to provide this Zulu homeland with the music, the content and the vibe that it was looking for. Our very own, home-brewed, funky radio station that understood what we wanted to hear.
On 13 March 2006 Gagasi 99.5 FM went on air for the first time with just over 500 000 listeners. Today, just over four years later, this radio station is the favourite of nearly 2 000 000 listeners across KZN, and consistently feature as one of the top 10 radio stations in the country.
Gagasi 99.5 FM is a contemporary radio station with a strong local identity and is the only bilingual commercial radio station in KwaZulu Natal, broadcasting in both English and isiZulu. We recognise the KZN region and serve the listeners’ information and educational needs through specialist features and focused events/promotions.

Tsiya Radio is a black-owned and managed investment holding company with interest in radio broadcasting and related services. It holds radio broadcasting interests in each of the prime commercial radio stations of Heart 104.9FM in Cape Town and Gagasi 99.5 FM in Durban and Kaya 95.9 in Johannesburg.
