Simon Moalusi Thipa was born and brought up in Umlazi Township on 03/06/76. Matriculated at Zwelethu High School which is situated in the same township, also studied PR Management through TSA and did a basic radio and TV skills course through UND. He is the last of only two boys, the eldest being Titus. His love for radio started at a very young age, about 7yrs.
He`s worked for Durban Youth Radio, Inanda FM and the KZN newspaper before joining Gagasi 99.5 as a jazz anchor. As an avid soccer fan, he`s a diehard Kaizer Chiefs fan. His love for jazz dates back to his teen and it always got him in trouble with the coach for the team he used to play for as a striker, as he would always disappear from the stadium around the lunch hour on Sundays to catch-up with a jazz programme on tv and then rush back to the stadium. He loves sea food which is something he inherited from his father who worked in hotels all his life and dislikes arrogant people.
