Alex Mthiyane

Alex Mthiyane joined the station from its inception in March 2006. Together with co-host Mamgo, the duo has become like “husband & wife” on Alex & the morning Crew.
Occasionally he stands in as a presenter of the discussion current affairs show Viewpoint at the station.
Mthiyane cut his teeth on radio when he produced and presented current affairs programs at the national broadcaster whilst he was a journalism student. In addition to being the afternoon news reader, he revamped the morning show for the national IsiZulu station and he did it for 4 years.

With a flair for infotainment radio, Alex has presented a regional magazine show called KZN 2 Nite on SABC 2, appeared on Morning Live as a resident KZN correspondent as well as for the now defunct Africa 2 Africa on DSTV.

He has also been on the other side of media and communication, having served in the capacity of spokesperson for two senior KZN ministers and ran a PR consulting company that designs media strategies.

The 35 year old also compeers corporate functions and endorses brands on behalf clients and Social Investment initiatives.

Mthiyane loves music, and the art. He is married and is a father of two girls.
